Tren de Soller (The Orange Express)

Opposite the urban buzz of Valencia and across the Balearic Sea sits the sunny isle of Mallorca with its white beaches and azure bays. Connecting the two main towns of Sóller and Palma is the wonderful Ferrocarril or Tren de Sóller, known colloquially as the Orange Express after it was built on money from the booming orange and lemon trade of the 1920s in Spain. A narrow-gauge train which has been in operation for over a hundred years, the classic wooden carriage on this train are a delight to see and ride in.
