Your tour begins in Norwich, where you meet your Tour Manager at the Holiday Inn Norwich City and are welcomed with mulled wine and mince pies. After checking in, you are free to begin exploring until dinner is served at the hotel this evening.
Your day begins with a special Christmas Eve cruise along the spectacular Norfolk Broads. Boarding the boat at Wroxham, experience the enchanting winter countryside of East Anglia as you sail past historical homes, thatched cottages and idyllic surroundings with a glass of mulled wine - all accompanied by interesting commentary throughout.
Continue this afternoon with a guided walk through the Woodland Garden at Fairhaven. Boasting over 3.5 miles of winding, flowering pathways with camellias, snowdrops, pieris and cyclame. The gardens are also home to a wide variety of wildlife including deer, otters and kingfishers, making it a joy to discover at Christmas time.
Enjoy Christmas Day at leisure. Perhaps take a relaxing walk through Norwich's historic centre, or unwind at the hotel making the most of the included facilities such as the sauna, pool and steam room. This afternoon sit down to a traditional Christmas lunch, followed by a Christmas buffet in the evening.
On Boxing Day take a guided walking tour of Norwich's Old Town, home to the city's imposing Norman Castle and Anglican Church, before a coach trip to seaside Sheringham. After time in Sheringham, you board the historic North Norfolk Railway, or 'Poppy Line' as it is locally known, for a festive-special return trip.
This morning join the Mid-Norfolk Railway at Dereham for a journey with a difference. You travel aboard a privately chartered diesel train, afterwards stopping for mince pies and coffee at Aylsham Café.
This afternoon, experience the Bure Valley Railway's 'mince pie special' service. This cheerful heritage railway puts on its festive face as you curl through the pretty Broads National Park.
After breakfast your tour concludes and you are free to depart at your leisure. Alternatively, you may wish to continue to explore Norwich and the fantastic surrounding area.
On many of our UK & Ireland tours, you may check in at the first hotel on your itinerary anytime after 14:00; your Tour Manager will be available between 16:00 and 18:00. However, if you are arriving later, you can meet your Tour Manager before dinner from 19:00.
