You meet at St Pancras International before boarding the Eurostar to Brussels. You continue on the high-speed rail service to Nuremberg, spending tonight here at the Maritim Hotel, located close to the station.
Leaving Nuremberg behind, you continue by rail to Passau today. On arrival, you transfer by coach to your home for the next seven nights, MV A-Rosa Donna.
The pace of the holiday is then set by you - whether you take part in optional excursions, enjoy the on board facilities, or relax and watch the world float by. This evening the ship sets sail for Vienna.
This morning you can explore glorious Vienna, either independently, or on an optional guided coach tour. The city is an effortless blend of past and present, as the grand imperial palaces sit alongside avant-garde galleries.
As you meander around Vienna, the music of its famous inhabitants - Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, Schubert, Strauss and Brahms are resonant through its living streets, along with the aroma of its famous coffee.
This morning you have the chance to visit Schönbrunn Palace on an optional excursion, arguably one of Austria's greatest buildings and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Later, there is the chance to enjoy the music of Strauss at a local concert. Tonight the ship cruises towards Hungary.
Today you reach Esztergom, one of the oldest towns in Hungary and the nation's capital from the 10th to mid-13th century. Here you could enjoy an optional excursion to visit the mighty Esztergom Basilica. Later you cruise on to Budapest; a 'city of two halves' straddling the majestic Danube; on one bank attractive Buda, and on the other its lively neighbour, Pest.
You could choose to take an optional excursion along the Danube Bend, a meandering stretch of the river lined with forest-covered hills and idyllic villages.
Architecturally, Budapest is a gem with enough baroque, neoclassical and art nouveau buildings to satisfy anyone's appetite. One of the most stunning cities in central Europe, you may wish to explore Budapest at leisure, or join the optional guided city tour.
Today you have free time in Budapest before we continue along the Danube where there are a number of optional excursions including the Danube Bend, a meandering stretch of the river lined with forest-covered hills and idyllic villages. You could visit the Hungarian Puszta, one of Europe's largest expanses of protected prairie, and a UNESCO World Heritage site where Hungarian grey cattle, stud horses, Racka sheep with spiral-shaped horns and buffalo herds graze on open pastures.
Alternatively you may like to see historic Margarete Island, a tranquil getaway in the heart of the city.
You arrive in Bratislava, Slovakia's capital city, this morning. Home to a wealth of museums and galleries, the city's historic centre features delightful cobble-stoned roads, pastel 18th century rococo buildings and pedestrian plazas. Explore at leisure or perhaps join an optional tour before our ship sails back through the pretty Vienna woods.
This morning your ship sails into Melk, a town that boasts a glorious Benedictine Abbey which stands on a rocky outcrop above the Danube. You have the chance to join an optional guided tour of the Abbey, generally considered one of Europe's most beautiful Baroque churches.
There is also the opportunity to continue through the Wachau Valley and explore nearby Dürnstein. Back on board this evening, there is a farewell buffet to mark the final night
After arriving in Passau, you disembark and return to Cologne for a night at the Maritim Hotel. We then take the high-speed train to Brussels on Day 10, where you join the Eurostar service back to London St Pancras International.
